What happen's next after dropping sk, def files into dropbox?
Generally, I think the site and documentation needs MyScript to employ a Technical writer, because I'll be honest it's not easy to fathom stuff out. I think the software you have is fantastic, but to say one will have to pay for it, documentation poor....can understand if it is open source.
We need to update our documentation about our new custom resource tool. In the meantime, please find some explanations below.
How to create and use custom ATK Math Grammar:
- Go to the Resource tools webpage https://developer.myscript.com/tools (it requires to be logged in)
- According to the documentation about lexicon, subset knowledge or math grammar, create your own resource file http://doc.myscript.com/Common/DevTools/index.html. In your case, create your custom grammar file (.def) (You can download an example here)
- select 'ATK' and load the file (UTF8 encoded!) then download the generated resource file (.res)
For the MathWidget iOS, you will have to change the math.conf file located in Samples/MathWidgetSample/MathWidgetSample/Resources directory, for instance by adding :
Under XCode, you will need to change the project accordingly in the ViewContholler.h:
NSBundle *mainBundle = [NSBundle mainBundle];
NSString *bundlePath = [mainBundle pathForResource:@"resources"
bundlePath = [bundlePath stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"conf/"];
[_mathView configureWithBundle:@"math" andConfig:@"custom"]; }
Finally, you will be able to see your changes by running your project. Only symbols of your custom grammar will be recognized.
Please let us know if you have any other question.
Download resource files from where?
My project is for iOS.
thx for your help
Thanks for your feedback, we will improve the documentation, in the meantime, please find some explanations here:
Once dropped in the area, you should be able to download resource files (.res) generated from your .sk file or .def file (encoded UTF8).
Download the .res file and depending on the widget or cloud offer you use, you will be able to integrate it in your project different way.
From your other posts, I guess you use MathWidget ATK, so you will have to add your new .res file in your Android project in the Math resource folder as mentioned in the MathWidget documentation:
For instance: add resource file in the folder...MathWidgetSamplesrcmainassetsresources and update the math.conf file in ...MathWidgetSamplesrcmainassetsconf folder
Lexicon and subset knowledge will be useful for Text recognition.
